The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has made public various revisions in its textbooks in which it has dropped references to the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, killing of “Muslims” in the Gujarat riots and Hindutva. It has also tweaked the reference to Manipur's merger with India. The NCERT did not comment on the topics being left out, however, the officials said that the changes are a part of the routine updation. They ruled out the development of new books according to the New Curriculum Framework (NCF).
